Phonics and Early Reading Audit

Expert advice and support for schools from DfE trained Literacy Specialists. Our audits help leaders identify current good practice, highlight areas for development and plan clear, achievable next steps towards outstanding early reading provision.

Outline of the audit process:
  1. Preliminary telephone conversation with a member of SLT to decide on school priorities (30 mins)
  2. Video call with reading and/or phonics leader to self-assess current provision (60 mins)
  3. Preparation of audit report and action plan by New Wave literacy specialist (Half a day)
  4. Video call with SLT and reading/phonics leader to discuss implementation of action plan (30 mins)
